Sina King-Smith grew up in rural Appalachia and completed a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Akron, where she participated as a collegiate athlete. She also completed a master’s in Nutritional and Food Science, as well as a master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University.
Sina is a West Virginia eating disorder registered dietitian, nationally certified counselor, yoga instructor, and certified intuitive eating counselor that specializes in eating disorders, disordered eating, body image and addiction specific concerns. Sina is also an adjunct instructor at West Virginia University in the Davis College, as well as an adjunct instructor at Fairmont State University.
Sina strives to support clients in creating a life free of dieting, body dissatisfaction, and intrusive (noisy) thoughts while striving for safety and embodiment. She is also passionate about supporting clients experiencing addiction and preoccupation with substances, behaviors, and foods while utilizing approaches founded in NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Health At Every Size (HAES), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sina enjoys addressing myths within the nutrition and wellness spaces, along with anti-fat bias and weight discrimination with her years of experience and specialization as a nutrition expert. In her spare time, you can find Sina spending time with her partner and husky, talking walks in nature, doing yoga, reading, and baking.
