Every path is personal — and so is the way we support you.

Our Mission

At Alo Nutrition, we help individuals heal their relationship with food and body through compassionate, weight-inclusive nutrition therapy. Grounded in connection and trauma-informed care, we meet clients where they are and support them in defining what health, healing, and recovery mean on their own terms. Our approach makes care accessible; honors lived experience and helps people move toward sustainable well-being in ways that feel realistic and achievable.

What We Believe

Food and body concerns can be complicated — and you shouldn’t have to navigate them alone. We help people move away from shame, confusion, and diet rules and move toward trust, confidence, and more ease with food. Our philosophy blends clinical expertise with a compassionate, individualized approach.

Your relationship with food is shaped by history, culture, stress, access, health needs, and the messages you've received. We focus on helping you find stability and confidence with food — without judgment, pressure, or quick fixes.

Our Core Values

Connection

Talking about food and body image can feel uncomfortable — so we don’t pretend it’s not. We create space for honest conversations and take time to understand who you are and what you’re bringing into session. Connection means feeling heard, respected, and supported with guidance that actually fits your life.

Integrity

Integrity guides every decision, conversation, and plan of care at Alo Nutrition. We uphold trauma-informed and weight-inclusive principles, communicate transparently, and honor your autonomy. We won’t prescribe diets, promote weight loss, or offer advice that contradicts what we know to be safe and ethical.

Accessibility

We work to reduce barriers to nutrition care by offering flexible scheduling, in-person and virtual options, and are in network with multiple insurance plans. Our admission process is straightforward, wait times are minimal, and our diverse team strives to create an affirming and welcoming environment for all.

Growth

We view growth as steady, sustainable progress — not perfection. We help you build skills and awareness at a manageable pace, supporting insight, flexibility, and resilience. Growth shows up in your small steps forward and in our ongoing commitment to learning and improving as clinicians.

Excellence

Excellence reflects the care, consistency, and thoughtful preparation we bring to every session and interaction. We focus on clarity, follow-through, and what matters most in your experience. Excellence isn’t a destination — it’s the ongoing commitment to provide care you can trust.

Our Approach to Care

How We Practice

Our dietitians use a weight-inclusive, trauma-informed approaches rooted in compassion and collaboration. We draw from intuitive eating principles, eating disorder recovery models, neuro-affirming strategies, and medical nutrition therapy to support clients through eating disorders, disordered eating, and general nutrition concerns.

We focus on stabilizing nourishment, rebuilding trust with internal cues, and helping you understand the “why” behind your patterns with food.

Health at Every Size®

Our practice aligns with Health at Every Size® (HAES®) principles, which emphasize respect, weight inclusivity, and equitable access to compassionate care. We focus on health-supporting behaviors, not weight goals, and reject the assumption that health or worthiness is determined by body size.

HAES® guides us to consider the many factors that influence well-being — including social, emotional, cultural, and structural influences — while supporting clients in making choices that align with their values, needs, and lived experience. Our work centers dignity, autonomy, and the belief that people of all sizes deserve respectful, evidence-aware care.

Intuitive Eating

Intuitive Eating is a self-care framework that helps people build a more trusting, attuned relationship with food and their bodies. Our approach is grounded in the 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating, adapted to each person’s needs, medical considerations, and stage of recovery.

For some clients, this means exploring hunger, fullness, satisfaction, and interoceptive awareness. For others — especially in the early stages of recovery — it means building consistent, structured nourishment when cues feel unreliable or disrupted. Intuitive Eating is not a set of rules; it’s a flexible, compassionate framework that supports autonomy, curiosity, and respect for your body.

The “Why” Behind Eating

Eating is influenced by biology, emotions, stress, trauma history, culture, access, neurodivergence, and lived experience. We approach this complexity with curiosity, not shame. Understanding the “why” helps us create compassionate, sustainable steps forward.
