What to expect

Before meeting with a dietitian you will fill out the Admission Questionnaire. This form helps us determine if we have the right registered dietitian nutritionist for you.  We will then send paperwork to you.  Once that paperwork is filled out and we have a diagnosis from your medical provider we will assign you to a dietitian and put you on her schedule.

During your first appointment you will meet with your dietitian. She will ask questions about your eating patterns, behaviors, lifestyle and what led you to this point. Together you will come up with steps to move forward in eating disorder recovery.

At follow up appointments you can share what has happened in the past week. Your dietitian will work with you, providing nutrition counseling, discussing challenges and progress. She will help you tap into your own body cues for self care. Together you will make small goals that are consistent with where you are in recovery.

Nutrition Counseling

Many eating disorders behaviors have been normalized by a society rooted in diet culture. Rigid rules and dietary restrictions have replaced food flexibility and interfered with body trust. Confronting those behaviors can feel scary and overwhelming, but will ultimately allow you to move forward and reclaim your life.

At Alo Nutrition, we will support you through the ups and downs of recovery. As we untangle the beliefs and thoughts that have contributed to your eating disorder, we will help you reestablish balanced eating and exercise patterns. You will restore confidence and trust in your body as you discover life without your eating disorder.

You can find information regarding working with us if you have an eating disorder, want to see an RD for sports nutrition or if you have been chronic dieting and want to stop.
